Book Creators Privacy Policy

Book Creator @BookCreatorApp

Book Creator is a trademark of Red Jumper Limited. While researching on their website and reading through the Privacy Policy, I noticed that I could not find a terms of service. I quickly contacted the website through their support page and I received a prompt email (see below) explaining why they do not have one.

As Book Creator is a stand alone app it doesn’t require a terms of service at present – we don’t store any user data, create user accounts etc. In other words we don’t operate a service.
We do however have a privacy policy located at www.redjumper.net/bookcreator/privacy  which is COPPA and FERPA compliant. In essence through your use of Book Creator we don’t capture any personal data by students or even teachers.

I was impressed with the quick response from the company, and appreciated the explanation.

I have read through the privacy policy of this app and pulled out some important/interesting information for my own personal use and use of the app in a school setting. This information is included below.

While using Book Creator, under the umbrella of Red Jumper, I have found that the program does not seek any personal data unless the operator chooses to “publish”/purchase their created story.IMG_3266
After reviewing Red Jumper/Book Creator’s privacy policy I remain confident in my students using the program. When students are aware of their roles in protecting themselves as digital citizens, I see this as a useful program to continue to use in the classroom. I feel that students privacy and personal information is entirely safe.
